Eryngium is just starting to emerge in the garden with its architectural form and steely blue variation in colour. This is Eryngium x zabelii growing happily on our chalky bank and it is equally happy in the gravel garden. In years gone by, the roots of the sea holly were used to cure indigestion and boost the libido of ageing men!
